“Success comes from taking the initiative and following up or persisting.”  -Tony Robbins

Our next letter in the acronym S-M-A-R-T is R. It stands for “record your progress.” In the context of business or physical fitness training, recording progress is an obvious way to monitor your development. But what does recording your progress mean in the context of personal growth? It means that we notice and acknowledge the inner growth that is happening in our consciousness. By recognizing the ways in which we are being transformed, we firm up that transformation and establish that change as something real and useful to our forward progress. Without this kind of deliberate affirmation and confirmation, subtle yet profound spiritual experiences can be casually disregarded and forgotten. If they are recorded and registered in our mind, they can be like sprouting seeds that can continue to grow.

CENTERING THOUGHT: I can feel myself growing every day.

SANSKRIT MANTRA: Om Shreem Namah (I let divine joy, abundance, and beauty into my life).

1.) Our inner growth and pursuit of success require feedback from the self. Write down the different ways your body, emotions, and mind give you feedback. Being aware of this feedback is a way of recording your progress.

My inner self gives me feedback daily no matter what I may be doing or contemplating doing. Not only does it give me feedback on my actions or potential actions but the actions of others as well. Some of the ways in which I receive feedback can be any of the following:

  • Spikes in my intuition or lack thereof
  • Resistance or tension in my body or the lack thereof
  • Being or feeling overwhelmed
  • A sense of calm & peace I as make decisions that carry me forward
  • Confidence in my decision making

2.) Take the list of feedback you wrote above and explain what messages your progress is showing you. For example, when your body feels light and energized, it shows that your body is moving closer to its goal of wellbeing.

Whenever I am feeling discourse or lack of cohesion in my body I know that those feelings are instructing me that I need to move in another direction or I am moving in the wrong direction. There is a difference in feeling discourse and just being uncomfortable for a short period of time but the only way to really know the difference is to act or move. Being stagnant tells us nothing about ourselves and when we learn nothing about ourselves we fail to grow. On the contrary when I move in peace and the only resistance I feel is outward, I know that I am in accordance with myself and shaking up the comfort zones of those around me.

3.) Write down some of the feedback you are noticing from your body, mind, and emotions, and then make a general assessment of how well you are growing and progressing.

Honestly, what I feel my body and mind are telling me at the moment is that I am tired. Being physically tired can affect all other aspects of your life because you can become weakened in a spiritual and emotional state when your physical body is not up to par. I am growing and progressing beautifully but I need to have a better system of balancing my time so I am not fatigued all the time.

4.) Daily Reflection:

Everything in life requires balance and lack of balance can be the catalyst for some many things to spiral out of control. Right now I need to understand that no matter how hard I work and time I put into my vision, I cannot manifest things who’s time has not yet come. I have to understand that it is not only ok but essential to rest. When our bodies and minds aren’t fresh our judgment and voice of reason can be misconstrued or mistaken for something that it is not. Our surroundings can provide us with guidelines and signs but those signs are only a reflection of what is inside of us. We must stay aligned and in tune with our inner voice so that we do not become distracted by outer entities and opinions when we have the ultimate guide within us.

Affirmed: Every day I am growing and some days my growth will come in bigger measurements than others but its the small steps that lead us to being elevated to higher levels when the time comes. It is okay to listen to my inner voice because it knows my hearts desires even when my mind tries to convince me otherwise. I am thankful for my growth and I will continue to use my inner voice to propel me higher and take me further in my journey.
