Manifesting True Success Day 17: Taking Advantage of Unpredictability Danielle Rogers April 1, 2015 Enlightenment, Spirituality, Uncategorized, Words of Wisdom Manifesting True Success is a 21-Day Guided Meditation created by Oprah Winfrey & Deepak Chopra, to learn more click here. “If you put yourself in a situation of unpredictability and then find that it’s completely possible to accept it, then you become an observer.” –David Tudor Today we look at unpredictability in a new light. Typically we find unpredictability stress-inducing because it forces us to move out of our comfort zones of expectations, beliefs, and hopes. A change in plans from what we hoped for is often felt as a disappointment or failure. But if we can see beyond the apparent randomness of life and recognize that a larger purpose is always being served, then we can relax and welcome unpredictability, and observe how we can redirect our efforts to contribute to the bigger picture that is unfolding. Our meditation today opens our awareness to this grand purpose of the evolving universe and its infinite creative possibilities. CENTERING THOUGHT: I can turn unpredictability into a creative possibility. SANSKRIT MANTRA: Om Purnamidam (I invoke the fullness of universal Being.) Unpredictability is recognition of the limitations of our conscious awareness, and we make friends with it by relying on our unlimited, unbounded awareness. Write about an experience in which the relaxed and open awareness after meditation allowed you to be more comfortable with an unpredictable situation. As whimsical and spontaneous as I may seem, I’m actually quite the opposite. I think people believe I’m whimsical and far out just because I don’t live according to societal based restrictions neglecting the fact that I may have a personal structure system that I abide by. My structure isn’t based on schedule but more so a feel and conduciveness that I would like to have for my day, month, year, or season. If I’m in a certain mental space it’s likely that I will partake in a random request to hangout or shift environments if the vibe is the same. My personal structure is what has guided me out of chaos and sometimes I may overly cling to it because I know how hard I worked to get where I am. I know the ripple effect of being socially carefree and disturbing your personal biorhythms and throwing your creativity and zone out of whack. A life of a creative or artist is different than that of people who hold traditional jobs. There is no clocking out, my life is my work and my work is my life. The two are synonymous and I respect everyone’s career choice just as I wish they would do the same for me. Understanding that I am a creator trying to balance entrepreneurship my work week exceeds 40 hours a week and my pay is manifesting itself to match my effort meaning it hasn’t gotten there YET…but IT’s COMING! So these are the things that are on my mind when I’m asked to hang out. These are the things that tug at my heart when I just want peace or to be left alone so I can grow myself and my business so that I can have more free time and more resources. So, with that being said more times than not I must meditate daily all through out my day to maintain the peace I desire and suppress the frustrations that arise because I just want to work. When I’m not working I don’t want my time to be occupied in places that don’t fill me with something fleeting. I’d rather not be in the company of small talk type conversations. I want to enjoy myself and feel something, leave something and take something. I’ve chosen to stop fighting my urge to have tunnel vision. I’m choosing to honor the prayer I’ve prayed for the past year or so and use the work ethic that I now feel manifesting and pulsating inside of me. 2.) Many people fear what is unpredictable because it feels uncontrollable. Write about something unpredictable that is a source of fear for you. Now reframe that fear as merely an unknowable future and see it as an opportunity for a creative response. Relationships are a foreign territory for me, so merging my life with someone else is the ultimate unpredictable thing I could possibly think of at the moment. With my personal life yes I’m unsure what may happen, with my business I could say the same. However with both of those things I know have some sort of control of the outcome and I said this in faith based confidence. My life and my business will be just fine, they’re both going to exceed a lot of expectations, it’s just a matter of time. But relationships, ehhhhhhh…I. Just. Don’t. Know. So instead of fearing the unknowing and thinking on the worst case scenarios that hinder you from opening yourself up completely, we can choose to say I’m going to make this as beautiful as I can for as long as it’s meant to be. People think relationships are supposed to be perfect, they’re not. But some people need to be told that not being perfect does not equate to cheating, lying, and using people. The relationships I speak of are based on good intent. Two people not looking for someone to complete them but more so a compliment to the person they are meant to become that has the patience to see it though and vice versa. I’m talking about a partner that you can build with not an interaction of role playing based on titles and the way you personally choose to live your life. When you look at it that way it doesn’t seem or feel as bad. You open yourself to possibilities that are endless and a bond that is timeless. 3.) Now expand this vision by writing down how this fear serves your evolution as something that fits into and is an essential part of your larger life plan. Fear no matter the kind or situation it pertains to can be debilitating or it can act as a catalyst. The direction you go is all on you. You can stand there and look at fear, even more than that you can feel it. When you get those sensations and you breathe deeply, do you turn and revert back to what’s comfortable, even though it may still be causing you pain? Or do you jump through that imaginary wall and find out what’s waiting foryou further down the road. I promise you all it takes is one brave moment in your life, just ONE and you will never be the same. Fear will always be there but that’s how you know that you’re moving, that’s how you grow, and that is how you make dreams come true. I know there’s more so I can never stop facing my fears but I wouldn’t be able to do so effectively and confidently without slowing things down and praying or meditating. Everything is a lesson; sometimes pain is to get our attention and sometimes fear is nothing more than the road side sign pointing you in the right direction. Trust yourself and listen to your heart, there’s no greater GPS than the connection we have with God and the Universe. 4.) Daily Reflection: I welcome unpredictability and I have the courage to face my fears. I have the will power to say no if spontaneity doesn’t suit me at the time. Fear is nothing more than a guide on my journey and if things don’t get unpredictable I’m too far in my comfort zone and not growing.
