Manifesting Grace Through Gratitude Day 3: Awaken The Energy of Gratitude Danielle Rogers July 18, 2015 Enlightenment, Spirituality, Uncategorized, Visionary, Words of Wisdom Manifesting True Success is a 21-Day Guided Meditation created by Oprah Winfrey & Deepak Chopra, to learn more click here. “Joy is the simplest form of gratitude.” ― Karl Barth In today’s meditation, we learn how to recharge our gratitude batteries. If we are tired, upset, or stressed, then our heart is closed and we are not able to feel or express real gratitude. Genuine gratitude comes from a feeling of contentment, safety, and being welcomed in your life – what Buddha called the “gladdened heart.” This natural energy of gratitude is awakened when we meditate. Our intention in meditation will be to invite this warm attitude of appreciation into our awareness and perception. With this recharged heart of thankfulness we will find reason to be grateful wherever we look. SANSKRIT MANTRA: Ananda Hum (I am bliss). 1.) Write down the things in your life that most gladden your heart. These could be as simple as breathing pure mountain air on a hike or feeling the warmth of the morning sun on your cheek. Interacting with the kids in my family or that I’m close to. Spending time with my loved ones. The sound of the beach. Absolute silence. Trying new things. Accomplishing my goals. Seeing others accomplish their goals. 2.) Close your eyes, place your attention in your heart, and reflect on the people you are most grateful for. Now, write down what this experience made you feel. When I think about those that I am most grateful for, I feel peace. It’s not an overwhelming feeling on any end of the spectrum. I don’t feel overly elated because they are here nor do I feel a sense of anxiety due to fear of them leaving my life for one reason or another. I just simply feel peace. 3.) Describe the most beautiful thing you saw today and how you felt about it. The most beautiful thing I saw today was arriving to the campus of Hampton University and seeing one guy walk by with my shirt on then seeing two more people do the same. I then met up with the kids in the cafeteria and my shirts were everywhere. I still don’t think I’ve grasped the moment in it’s entirety but it is something I will never forget. Something I am eternally grateful for. 4.) Daily Reflection: My heart is full and I can only think of my favorite verse: Jeremiah 29:11. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Grace is real and I am open to all things that are meant for me. Even the things that others mean for my harm. Grace has the ability to turn them around for my good. For that I am thankful.
