As we navigate the ups and downs of daily life, with the mix of positive and negative situations at work and home, we need two tools to help us turn our practice of gratitude into a real state of grace: knowledge and experience. Knowledge provides the understanding and vision of how grace manifests, and direct experience gives us the personal validation that makes it real in our lives. Using the tools knowledge and experience with our practice of gratitude ensures that our path to grace is real and practical. These tools allow us to transmute all of our life experiences, positive or negative, into a genuine life of grace. SANSKRIT MANTRA: Atma Prakasha (My true self shines with its own light). 1.) Write down three times in your life where you felt guided in the right direction, even though you didn’t understand why. Reflect on the wise and loving intelligence behind that guidance. NOW; because life is coming together for me. It has come together for me and I am receiving all that is meant for me. There is so much more on the way and I welcome it with an obedient heart, a tactful mind, diligent hands, and a courageous spirit. A few times when I’ve seen and experienced people come and go in my life. Most times these instances were hard but I now understand why some people are no longer around and some people have come back around, and I know this cycle will continue through the duration of my life but there will be constant fixtures. Times when I’ve chosen to not fight ego based battles. Times when I know I could have truthfully and effortlessly hurt people but I chose to take the high road. No matter what was done or said about me, I opted to be steadfast to my journey and honor the grace in my life by practicing gratitude in the form of peace. 2.) Now list three times in your life where you suffered a great loss or setback, only to see that this unwelcome experience matured you and made you a wiser and more compassionate person than you were before. I can’t specifically say but I definitely made a mistake recently that I have to deal with every day. It’s nothing major but the lesson is far vast than the situation itself. That one time when I was broke lol; very humbling experience that also showed me there is far more to life than money and material things. Another valuable lesson is that your life may not be where you want it to be or where it once was, but if you don’t be grateful for what you have even if it’s just a little…things can get much worse. That fine line between heartbreak and getting your ego bruised a bit. More times than not its the latter but that is something that is revealed in time. 3.) Write about a difficulty you are currently experiencing, and list the possible gifts or positive outcomes that can emerge from it in the future. I am having trouble letting go of something. It’s very frustrating because for a while now it’s been completely a non factor in my life and recently a lot of negative feelings have been arising. I want to be free from these feelings and reclaim by constant space of peace. 4.) Daily Reflection: I release all negative energy from my mind space, personal space, spirit, and heart. I forgive those who have offended me and I am focused only on what it is that I can control. The path is set and I cannot afford to spend time in negative spaces stifling my creativity when I can be manifesting my goals and fulfilling my vision. I pray for those who wish me ill intent and I ask that even though they may not understand or like me that they respect me as a person enough to wish me well.
