The creative act, the defeat of habit by originality, overcomes everything.” – George Lois Welcome to our 21-Day Meditation Experience, Getting Unstuck: Creating a Limitless Life. We are excited to have you joining us on this illuminating journey to learn how to get our lives “unstuck.” Together we will learn that getting unstuck means removing the limitations we experience in the areas of life that frustrate us. Whether it is work, relationships, or finances, our old patterns of behavior condition our perceptions and so we believe our choices are limited for experiencing the life we want. In today’s meditation, we discover that to get unstuck, all we need to do is expand our awareness. In that awareness the limitations on our perceptions dissolve, our options or choices increase, and we find the inner fulfillment that is our true self. Over the next few weeks, we will learn ways to get unstuck and discover our inherent fulfillment in mind, body, and spirit. “Getting Unstuck: Creating A Limitless Life” is a 21-Day Guided Meditation created by Oprah Winfrey & Deepak Chopra, to learn more click here. CENTERING THOUGHT: I am fulfilled when I can be who I want to be. SANSKRIT MANTRA: Om Gum Shreem (My limitless awareness overcomes all obstacles.) 1.) Consider the person you want to be. Write down three things you value in this version of yourself, such as “I want to be emotionally fulfilled,” “I want to have high self-esteem,” or “I want to have a harmonious family life.” I want to be honorable. I want to be diligent. I want to be a hard worker. 2.) Taking your three examples, describe the gap between who you want to be and who you are now. For instance, “I often lack emotional fulfillment,” “My self-esteem isn’t as high as I want it to be,” or “My family is having issues right now.” I try to live honorably on a daily basis. When I say honorable, I mean measured by my standards and no one else’s. So in that, I want to keep raising the standards in which I carry myself and conduct my business. Knowing who you are and knowing what you want are only part of the battle. Some people think those things are the halves that lead to fulfillment but I think that it’s more of a trifecta. You can have those two things but without the diligence to work through your difficult times, you will never obtain & maintain that in which your heart desires. Every time I commit to something, my life seems to get chaotic. Actually it’s not even a “seems to” thing; my life goes to complete shambles every time I commit wholeheartedly to my goals. I know that I’m diligent to a certain extent because of the fact that I’m still moving forward. However, my desire is to be impenetrably focused, diligent, and triumphant. Having your hearts desires as well as fulfilling your goals means nothing if you are excelling at the expense of others. I not only want to work hard and be diligent in obtaining my goals but I want to do good in my community and allow that to trickle into the World. 3.) Reflect on how you can close this gap. Pick any of the values you listed and write down two things you can do today to get unstuck, bringing yourself closer to who you want to be. Don’t worry if the steps are small, so long as they are positive. The gap to better fulfill these things isn’t a big one for me. I believe it’s a matter of choosing to fight or be still. More times than not I try to fight my way through things even when I know I should be in a state of stillness. By fighting through things, I mean carrying on life as normal or staying unproductively busy. When I choose to do this, I open myself up to other people’s burdens, drama, and chaotic energy. This only further depletes me. I have to have the courage to stand strong in my stillness. I have to have the courage to stand strong in my committal to my work. I have to stand strong in my ability to say no. I have to know when to say no. 4.) Daily Reflection: Life is trying to show me something, push me towards something and I have yet to figure it out. Am I wanting too much and not giving enough? Am I not being as honorable or as diligent as I should be?!?! What changes do I need to make in my life effective immediately? These are the questions that I’m asking myself. By the end of the day, I’m confident that I will have my answers… “Getting Unstuck: Creating A Limitless Life” is a 21-Day Guided Meditation created by Oprah Winfrey & Deepak Chopra, to learn more click here.
